6 And Half A Dozen is a collection of twelve works that move

through politics, conflict, power, and the strange ways history folds

back on itself. Almost cynically. Some figures are instantly

recognizable. Others are mingled with different faces or themes,

each carrying meanings that shift depending on where you stand.

The window I first saw the world was through my grandmother’s

radio. It never left her side.

Life heard by a boy through muffled, scratched voices breaking and

bouncing off the antenna. Elections, invasions, victories, losses.

I absorbed the world one broadcast at a time. The radio felt a

souvenir left by my ancestors, who moved through deserts where

news traveled through stars, caravans, carried in memory and

conversation from one camel to the next.

The radio felt like an heir to that tradition. Names that seemed larger

than life. Long before I understood the weight of these stories, I

knew their voices.

Years later, those voices found their way into art.

The title itself is the concept. It is twelve works, and it is a dozen

works.The mathematics are identical, the experience is not. What

changes is not the thing itself but the language we bring to it, the

perspective that shapes what we see.

There is no neutrality in seeing.
